Wellbeing

Positive Behaviour

We are committed to creating a calm, consistent and supportive environment where every student can learn, thrive and feel a strong sense of belonging.

Our approach to positive behaviour is grounded in our CORE values of Curiosity, Optimism, Respect and Excellence. We believe that positive relationships, clear expectations and consistent support create the conditions for both wellbeing and successful learning.

Behaviour at Beaumaris Secondary College is viewed as an important part of learning and personal growth. We work in partnership with students and families to build respectful relationships, support engagement and encourage every student to contribute positively to our community.

Clarity & Consistency

We provide clear expectations across all learning spaces to support a safe, respectful and productive learning environment.

Consistent routines and predictable classroom practices help students feel secure, engaged and ready to learn. Staff work together to provide fair and consistent responses that support both learning and wellbeing across the college.

Positive Approach

Positive behaviour is explicitly taught, reinforced and recognised throughout the college.

We believe in acknowledging positive actions, effort and growth, while also supporting students to reflect, repair relationships and learn from challenges through fair and restorative approaches.

Our focus is on helping students develop the skills, responsibility and confidence needed to succeed both at school and beyond.

Guiding Growth

Every student is supported through our GOAL Program (Gratitude, Organisation, Aspirations and Leadership), with a dedicated GOAL Mentor who provides regular check-ins, guidance and support.

The GOAL Program helps students build positive habits, strengthen connections and develop a sense of belonging within the college community. Strong home-school communication and partnership are an important part of this support.

Culture & Connection

We believe every student should feel known, valued and connected.

Our House system, student leadership opportunities, co-curricular programs and community experiences help foster identity, pride and positive relationships across the college.

At Beaumaris Secondary College, we are proud to nurture a culture where behaviour supports learning, wellbeing and a strong sense of belonging.
